William Shakespeare was the third child of John and Mary Shakespeare. We don’t really know his exact birth date but we assume he was born in 1564 because of his baptism records, and at that time its was modern for children to be baptized a few days after being born. He has two sisters and four brothers. Only one sister and four brothers survived to adulthood.
A bond certificate dated November the 28th, 1582, shows that William was married at the age of 18 to a 26 year old, pregnant women by the name of Anne Hathaway. Seven months later they had their first child, Susanna. Baptism records show that William also had twins named Hamnet and Judith. After 11 years William's only son, Hamnet, died do to the cause of an outbreak of the Bubonic Plague, also know as the Black Death or the Black Plague. Hamnet was buried in stratford on August 11, 1596. Records show that that he died on April the 23rd 1616.
